*Alan Pugsley: Headline Event: Alan Pugsley – “A Brief History of Craft Beer in New England” (4–5 PM)
We’re honored to welcome world-renowned British master brewer Alan Pugsley, co-founder of Shipyard Brewing Company and founder of Pugsley Brewing International. A pioneer of the modern craft beer movement, Alan trained under legendary brewer Peter Austin at the Ringwood Brewery in England before bringing those techniques to the United States. Over the past four decades, he’s helped build more than 100 breweries — including Geary’s, Gritty McDuff’s, Magic Hat, Long Trail, The Shed, and Dogfish Head — shaping the course of American craft beer.
Alan also helped us build Orange Bike Brewing Company, marking the 100th brewery he’s supported in his career. His talk will explore the early days of craft beer in New England, its present evolution, and what lies ahead for brewers and beer lovers alike.
